Into your hands… (Remembering God on the Cross)

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:45-46)
What is your cry to God, now?
Father!
Sin surrounds me, and my habits and addictions overwhelm. Please hear me now, liberate me from the sickness of my soul.
The hand of death is near to my dear friends. Sickness, injustice, oppression threatens and I can’t do anything about it! Please hear me now, be near to them.
My reality is as a cracked picture frame. Please hear the hurts of my heart. I cry to you.
